Villeneuve-Lembron Castle is a National Monument of France.

Exceptional painted decors. The first lord of the château, Rigaud d’Aureille, served four kings of France: Louis XI, Charles VIII, Louis XII and François I. He played a leading role in the Italian wars of 1494 and went on to serve as ambassadors at several different European courts. His château is famous for its painted interior which narrates his life and features a wealth of imaginary Mediaeval scenes. His descendants added mythological themes and decorations during the Renaissance. The château has conserved the original furniture from the age of Rigaud d’Aureille and a superb collection of Aubusson tapestries relating the life of Alexander the Great.
