Thoronet Abbey is a National Monument of France.

A Cistercian abbey set in secluded woods, famous for its remarkable stonework. The Abbaye du Thoronet was built at the end of the 12th century.It is one of the “Three Sisters of Provence” (with Senanque and Silvacane Abbeys) and one of the finest examples of Cistercian architecture. The whole monastery is a forceful expression of the simplicity and precision of the order of Saint Bernard.

April 1 to September 30: from 10 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. (Sundays: from 10 a.m. to noon and from 2 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.) October 1 to March 31: from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. (Sundays: from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.) Religious office in the abbey on Sundays, at noon.
